News18 India to expand to outside UK territory

IndiaCast’s international news channel, News18 India, which launched in the UK last summer, is set to expand by being available in other countries outside the UK.

IndiaCast group COO Gaurav Gandhi told IndianTelevision that News18 India has launched in Singapore after signing a deal with Mio TV by SingTel and similarly in the Middle East after striking an agreement with e-Vision by Etisalat. There are also plans to take News18 India to the US and Canada within the next quarter.

Since News18 India launched in the UK, the response has been well, however viewing figures have remained on the lower side. It is hoping that the Indian elections coverage over the next few weeks will build the interest further in the channel.

News18 India is a hybrid news channel featuring content from the Viacom18 Network including CNN-IBN, IBN 7 and CNBC TV18.
