Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play gay character?

It was recently reported that critically acclaimed director Hansal Mehta is looking to cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a gay character in his next, and by the looks of things the actor is keen on accepting the offer.

Already planning out the first stages of the project, Hindustan Times report Siddiqui stating, “Yes, we�۪re in talks and I�۪m very keen to play the role … I have no problem playing a gay character, and in any case, I have been wanting to work with Hansal Mehta for a long time.”

Siddiqui received a great response from critics and audiences alike, for his performances in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) and ‘Kahaani’ (2012).

The upcoming project will reflect on the main character’s journey in accepting himself as a homosexual and the way it is dealt with in society.
