Nawazuddin Siddiqui to collaborate with Sanjay Raut for another biopic?

There could be another biopic on the cards for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who was last seen essaying Shiv Sena Supremo Balsaheb Thackeray in the political biopic ‘Thackeray’ (2019).

Reported on Deccan Chronicle, Siddiqui who was praised for his performance in the Sanjay Raut directorial, has apparently been selected by Raut to play the role of late trade unionist and former Defence Minister George Fernandes, who passed away in January 2018.

A close source shared some details on this news, “Nawaz and Raut got along pretty well during the making of Thackeray and Raut was not only impressed by the way Nawaz performed in the film but also by his conduct during the shoot. Nawaz did not even ask for a penny for the film which made Thackeray get into profits. Raut has now offered Nawaz the role of George Fernandes as well in the biopic that he is making. Nawaz has a close resemblance with George because of his looks. It is also said that Shoojit Sircar will be one of the creative heads on the project.”

For now Siddiqui is working on ‘Bole Chudiyan’, directed by his brother Shamas Siddiqui. The film which was originally starring Mouni Roy, but later opted-out of the movie, has now been replaced by Tamannaah Bhatia, according to new reports. The film is slated to release in 2020.
