Nawazuddin Siddiqui still has insecurities?

Being one of the biggest names in the Indian Film Industry does come with its own disadvantages, and as his status has grown, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is realising this more and more. However, the challenges he faces, seem to be slightly different to those of an average lead hero.

Understanding that he didn’t look like a typical particular type of character when he started out, the actor was facing the challenges of figuring out what types of roles would come his way. “When I was trying to make my way in, about 70% films had the same plot a hero, a heroine and a villain. There was hardly anything for anyone else. So, I was insecure about getting work. But I was clear ki kaam chhota ya bada ho… bas mile aur main acha kar sakoon (whatever the role big or small… As long as I get it and do a good job). Now, the insecurity is different now,” Hindustan Times report the actor stating.

He went onto add, “Now, the insecurity is: if the character will leave its mark on the audience or not. The fresh guy I am playing… will he be fresh enough or not kahin pichle character ka hangover toh nahi hoga? (It shouldn’t be a hangiver from a previous character?) Appreciation isko milega ya pichle wale ke hangover mein hi honge log (will one get appriciated or will people compare it as a hangover of the last one)? It۪s crucial that the character leaves its mark.”

Well it seems Siddiqui doesn’t have anything to worry about. Having received critical acclaim for a number of films including the recently released Salman Khan starter ‘Bajirangi Bhaijaan’ (2015) , he definitely performs all hid roles as differently as they come.
