Nawazuddin Siddiqui rejects ‘Ittefaq’ remake?

The past��few years have most definitely seen an upside swing to Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s acting career. The actor is now in a position to be selective about the projects he chooses to do and has allegedly turned down Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar’s offer of the ‘Ittefaq’ (1969) remake.

Mid Day quote a source as saying, “Nawaz was approached to play the iconic cop�۪s role and he had agreed to come on board initially. Later, he told them that he was not happy with the climax and wanted it changed, but the makers weren�۪t keen to rework the script. Disagreement over this forced him to opt out of the film.”

It is being speculated that Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha will reprise the leading roles in the thriller, which is to be directed by Abhay Chopra.
