Lead actress of ZEE TV’s low budget soap ‘Mamta’, Narayani Shastri, could be on her way out, if reports are to be believed.

Mumbai Mirror is reporting that Narayani is being sacked from the show after producers became fed-up of her tantrums.

Narayani replaced former protagonist Neha Mehta, as she was unhappy with the generation leap storyline. Narayani was called into resurrect the ailing show but unfortunately for her, the ratings have taken a complete nosedive. Channels bosses have now called for an overhaul or the soap faces being axed.

A source from the production house told Mumbai Mirror, “Narayani charges a bomb and gives very little time to the show. Moreover, she throws a lot of tantrums on the sets. As she is the lead, she has to be in most of the frames. When the show needs her for eight hours per day, she turns up late and remains there for only a couple of hours. Imagine, we have to use body doubles.”

Neeraj Sachdeva, supervising producer of the show says, “We are planning to introduce two new characters. I would not like to comment further.”
