MTV Beats set to move to new Sky EPG number in UK

Popular Bollywood music channel, MTV Beats is set to move to a new Sky EPG number from Monday 11th February 2019.

The channel has confirmed that it will shift from its current 776 to 717 on the Sky EPG line-up. EPG 717 has been sitting vacant since French channel, TV5 Monde went off-air in November.

MTV Beats is hoping the move will help it garner larger exposure between the bigger Asian TV broadcasters. The new placement will put the channel between &TV, Rishtey Cineplex, Sony MAX and Hum Masala. Previously, the channel was placed towards the end of the International category, where a number of smaller broadcasters can be found.

MTV Beats, along with the rest of the Asian TV channels will be moving again in May after a consultation process by Sky, will group channels per Asian language. Read this.
