Mona Singh returns to Sony TV with Balaji drama

Sony Entertainment Television Asia favourite Mona Singh is returning back to basics by playing the lead in the channel’s new drama ‘Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada’.

After seven years since she played the much loved character in ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’, Mona Singh will be doing her first major fiction role in the show produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms.

Mona Singh has kept away from fiction shows and instead concentrating on hosting other programmes including ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega’, ‘Shaadi Teen Crore Ki’ and recently ‘Star Ya Rockstar’.

Whilst details of the new show are being kept underwraps, reports suggest that Mona Singh will be playing a simple middle-class, sari-clad housewife.

‘Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada’ will launch on Sony TV on Monday 16th January with ‘Saas Bina Sasural’ set for a schedule move and recent new shows ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ and ‘Dekha Ek Khwab’ reverting back to 30-minute slots.
