Mohit Suri calls ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ a learning experience

Hamari Adhuri Kahani

Mohit Suri directed ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ (2015) which did badly at the box office despite having a positive response for its music. The director has called the film a learning experience.

Absolute India report Suri explaining, “The songs of HAK have been heard and appreciated. People have related to songs like Hasi۪ and the title track, but then it has mature thoughts and lyrics. It is about people who have loved and lost and learned how to live again. As far as India is concerned, the young in the country might have found it difficult to connect with it. The movie is for mature Indian audience, for the ones who doesn۪t go the theatre much. However, the failure of the movie at the box-office doesn۪t stop me as a director”.

He also defended his decision to make such a film after Mahesh Bhatt had advised him to stick with light-hearted stories, “The fact is that I am 34 and if I don۪t want to make it now and go for it at the age of 48, it۪ll be looked upon as I am making a jaded film”.
