Mira Nair to rope in Irrfan Khan for dance film?

They first came together in the critically acclaimed ‘The Namesake’ (2006), and then again for the short film titled ‘Kosher, Vegetarian’ (2009). Now rumour has it that director Mira Nair and actor Irrfan Khan are set to team up again for another film, this time revolving around the subject of dance.

The project titled ‘The Bengali Detective’, tells the story of a middle-aged man from Kolkata who holds a keen interest in learning contemporary dance. Sharing a great rapport with Khan, Nair is very keen on signing him to the role. “Mira wants to see if I can dance or not. In my latest ad for Piyush Pandey I am seen dancing. I am sending that ad to Mira to evaluate my dancing skills,” Bollywood Hungama��reported the actor explaining.

Though still in it’s early stages, it looks like Khan has a lot of preparation to do. Having received huge acclaim for his international work, there’s no doubt in saying the actor will definitely give this challenge all he has to succeed.
