Star TV UK’S dabble with Urdu programming has taken a twist with the broadcaster shifting its first Urdu show ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ from Star Plus to Life Ok.

According to reliable sources, BizAsiaLive.com can reveal that ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ will re-run on Life Ok from April. ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’, which launched on Star Plus UK with much fanfare in October last year was recently affected with inconsistency in its schedule time.

The show was initially given a Sunday night 22:00 slot, which regularly gave the channel over 40,000 viewers per episode. However, it was shifted to 22:30 due to events and films shown earlier in the evening on the channel. Last week, the show was shunted to the 23:00 slot due to Star Plus’ fictions being extended to seven-days a week.

BizAsiaLive.com understands that ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ will re-run on sister channel, Life Ok in the UK from first weekend of April. The show will air at an earlier time of 18:00 on both Saturday and Sunday evenings. The channel is expected to broadcast the show from the very start of the series. The full 20 episodes of the show will run up until June.

Star TV acquired ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ from A Plus in Pakistan. It is said to be loosely based on the story of Yusuf and Zulaikha by Jami in his book Haft Awrang.
