Makers deny reports of ‘Singh Is Kinng’ sequel

Rumours were rife that the makers of the Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Singh is Kinng’ (2008) were all set to make its sequel. Furthermore, there had even been whispers of Ranveer Singh replacing Kumar for the follow-up film. However, it seems this latest news tipped them off, where it has now been confirmed that no such film taking place, let alone replacing Kumar.

Taking to social networking site Facebook, writer Suresh Nair stated, “For all those stories floating around about a sequel to ‘Singh Is Kinng’, they are simply rumours. As the writer of the 2008 film or its proposed sequel, there is no such film happening at the moment.”

When talking to the media, producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah also stated, “He (Suresh) is right, there is no discussion of ‘Singh is Kinng’ sequel. I have not met Anees Bhai (Anees Bazmee) or anyone for the sequel. I categorically put it on record that as of today there is no discussion of making a sequel of ‘Singh is Kinng’ with Anees Bhai or anyone. Suresh is absolutely correct in saying so.”

Well it looks like film fans might be waiting a while before they see even a glimpse of a follow up film. Here’s hoping the makers have secretly got something up their sleeve.
