Lucky Ali apologises after “ugly as f***” remark against Javed Akhtar

Singer-songwriter Lucky Ali has responded to the backlash surrounding his recent comment about lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, which went viral on social media. The remark, in which Ali described Akhtar as “never original and ugly as f***,” was made in reaction to a post highlighting an old video where Akhtar urged Hindus “not to become like Muslims.”
The post included a clip of Akhtar making the statement, prompting Ali to comment: “Don’t become like Javed Akhtar, never original and ugly as f*…” The comment quickly gained traction online, sparking widespread criticism and debate.
In response, Ali issued a clarification, stating that his remark was not intended as a personal attack on Akhtar but was aimed at arrogance in general. He wrote: “What I meant was that arrogance is ugly. It was a mistaken communication on my part. Monsters may have feelings too, and I apologise if I hurt anyone’s monstrosity.”
Ali further expressed regret for the tone of his comment, emphasising that he had no intention of disrespecting anyone.
