Lauren Gottlieb replaces Nargis Fakhri in ‘Welcome to Karachi’

Lauren Gottlieb became a popular name in Bollywood after her stint in ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa- Season 6,'(Colors-2013) eventually becoming the first runner up. She went on to star in Remo D’Souza’s ‘ABCD’ (2013). While she will be seen in the sequel to her debut, ‘ABCD 2,’ alongside Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, she will also be seen in Jackky Bhagnani starrer, ‘Welcome to Karachi,’ replacing Nargis Fakhri.

Its been two years, and Gottlieb has become a desi girl. She talked to the Mumbai Mirror,��“Varun and Shraddha are the stars of ABCD 2 but I have a solo track and plenty of dancing. Earlier, my co-stars used to tease me Phoren Ka Lauren, but this time, I was the one who ended up copying their thumkas and speaking their slang.”

Gottlieb is upbeat about her new role in ‘Welcome to Karachi.’ She will be performing a lot of stunts in the film. “I’m really excited about my bad-ass character, who’s a Pakistani ISI agent. The role reminded me of my New York days when my father would walk around the house carrying a gun. It’s an action film and you’ll see me doing a lot of stunts.”

She had moved to India for greener pastures. As she’s making a place in Bollywood, she hasn’t been making news in Hollywood. “Most of the online content is blocked there, so even if I want my friends to watch a few videos of my work, it’s not possible. The American producers probably think I’ve fallen off the globe.”

Gottlieb also participated in the dance show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ in 2005 and made it to the top six.
