Karisma Kapoor on working with Govinda: “He taught me how to dance with ‘feel’”

Karisma Kapoor who took the hot spot for her sister on the dance reality show ‘Dance India Dance’, said she was a huge fan of Govinda, and it was him who taught her how to dance with ‘feel’.

Reported on DNA India, Kapoor said, “I remember when I was 12 or 13 years old, he was doing a show at the Shanmukhananda Hall where he was to perform along with Neelam and I forced my parents to take me for it. They performed to I Am A Street Dancer (Ilzaam, 1986) and I was so thrilled that I kept clapping throughout! We have grown up watching and learning from these iconic actors and dancers. I am very fortunate that I got the opportunity to work in so many films and dance with Govinda. He taught me how to dance with ‘feel’. While practising, we would learn the steps and all the technical aspects of the move but when it came to the final take, he would tell me to dance with ‘feel’. It was this ‘feel’ that made our chemistry work on screen and off as well.”

The iconic duo entertained the masses during the 90’s with numerous hit films like ‘Raju Baba’ (1994), ‘Hero No.1’ (1997) and ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’ (1996).
