Karan Johar: “You can’t have an ego if you want to survive”
Karan Johar is one Bollywood personality who has never shied away from praising his colleagues. This is perhaps owing to the fact that he believes you cannot have an ego if you want to survive in the film industry. Johar believes that it is especially important for filmmakers to put aside their ego and avoid clashes at the Box Office wherever possible.
“My advice to any producer is: It’s a commercial enterprise, if you have announced the date and there is a bigger movie that decides to come on the same date, run… You can’t have an ego, if you want to survive. You have to kind of have an intelligent mind to understand that… Don’t clash with anybody and do not underestimate the power of any other film,” Johar is quoted as having said toDNA India.
Johar had recently changed the release date for his upcoming production, ‘Brothers’, starring Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film, which was earlier to release on 2nd October, has been preponed to 31st July. Taking its place on 2nd October is Prabhu Deva’s Akshay Kumar starrer, ‘Singh Is Bling’.
