Producer Karan Johar, who was issued a summons by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has submitted a written reply through his lawyer. The NCB is probing the alleged drug nexus of Bollywood, following the death of star Sushant Singh Rajput. The agency have already questioned several Bollywood and television celebrities, and alleged drug peddlers too.
Johar, in his reply to the NCB, denied drug usage at his party, reports Spotboye. The NCB initially issued a notice to Johar as a result of the viral video that allegedly showed drugs being consumed at the house party hosted by him at his residence on 28th July last year.
According to the report, NCB sources confirmed that they received Johar’s reply via a pen drive. Following his reply, officials confirmed that they will cross-examine and verify the producer’s story. Johar also submitted additional videos and pictures from the party that is not on the public domain. The agency also has received the guest list of the party, which includes the ones who were invited but didn’t attend it.
Johar’s party video saw top Bollywood stars including Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Malaika Arora. Johar was summoned under 67(B) of the NDPS Act, which doesn’t require physical appearance, but the person in question has to co-operate with the investigating agency.
