Karan Johar refuses film with Sidharth Malhotra?

Karan Johar surprised many when he reportedly turned down Sidharth Malhotra’s film on Kargil hero, with many questioning why when he is said to be close to the actor.

A source was cited in Deccan Chronicle saying, “He had reached out to a whole lot of people, but the first of them was Karan Johar, his mentor. Sidharth believed that Karan would welcome the idea. But, then he was shocked when Karan decided not to take up the film.”

Reports say that Johar wasn’t completely gung-ho about the concept and with Malhotra’s recent track record, the filmmaker was rumoured to being careful. Another section of the press said that Johar wasn’t keen on doing another film based on Indo-Pak relations, as he is currently in the midst of promotions for ‘Raazi’.

The film will now be produced by Ekta Kapoor.
