The talented Kanika Kapoor has seen much success with her recent song Babydoll which was featured in Ekta Kapoor produced film ‘Ragini MMS 2’ (2014). Now, the singer has been roped in to sing for ‘Happy New Year’, BizAsia has learnt.

The song in question is apparently the one that will introduce Deepika Padukone in the film. A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Both SRK and Farah were impressed with the way Baby Doll escalated the fortunes of Ekta’s horrex. However, instead of the Meet Brothers, Kanika will be collaborating with Dr. Zeus this time.” Shah Rukh Khan, who stars in the film, is expected to shoot a remix video with the singer and Padukone in similar fashion to Lungi Dance by Yo Yo Honey Singh in last year’s ‘Chennai Express’.

Kapoor confirmed the news, “I can assure you that this song will be a bigger hit than Baby Doll. It’s something that has never been attempted before. People are bored with the same type of songs, they are looking for a change and this will be it!”

‘Happy New Year’ is directed by Farah Khan and also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.
