Kangna Ranaut thinks ‘Manikarnika’ is National Award definite

She has sparked a lot of controversy with the films makers already, however it seems Kangna Ranaut feels that her previous project ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’ (2019) deserves a National Award status, and if it were not to happen, she would question the credibility of the film board.

“I feel there are certain things which if you will not respect, then it is, in turn, disrespectful for that organisation itself. So, if I or my film ‘Manikarnika…’ doesn’t win at National film awards, then it will question credibility of that award ceremony but if I come across other good work then, I will be objective enough to say it’s better than me,” New Indian Express reports the actress stating.

She went on to add, “I think last year, Tabu ji gave an amazing performance in ‘Andhadun’ (2018). I am floored by what she has done. I think in coming year, it will be revealed. If there will be a better performance than ‘Manikarnika’, I will definitely appreciate that but I don’t think it will happen.”

There had been a rift between Ranaut and the rest of the makers of the film, where she stated that she directed most of the film. Through social media, the makers made a stand, stating that Ranaut’s comments were false and that they had as much to do with the film as she did.
