Kalki Koechlin & Anurag Kashyap got married to please their parents

News of Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap’s separation was doing the rounds since 2013. ��As they now head for divorce, Koechlin has gone on record to say that the reason they had got married was actually to please their parents.

Absolute India quote Koechlin as saying,��”I never considered marriage as an essential component in life. ��Anurag and I got married to please our parents… I think most of the people feel the pressure to get married as they have to please their parents and that’s usually the only reason… I think relationships are based on honesty and trust so I don’t think marriage is a necessary institution.”

The actress made her Bollywood debut in Kashyap’s ‘Dev D’ (2009) and the duo tied the knot in 2011. ��While they had taken the decision to separate in 2013, divorce has only recently been filed for.

On the work-front, Koechlin’s latest film, ‘Margarita With A Straw’, is slated for release in India on 17th April, while Kashyap is busy with promotional work for his ambitious project��’Bombay Velvet’.
