Kajol open to working with younger hero

An older actress romancing a younger actor is not a new concept in Hindi Cinema. In the 70s, Zeenat Aman romanced Rishi Kapoor, who was a year younger than her. Akshaye Khanna had a love story with Dimple Kapadia in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (2001) and Aishwarya Rai romanced Vivek Oberoi in ‘Kyun! Ho Gaya Na’ (2004). Kajol recently spoke about working opposite a co-actor who was younger than her.

DNA reports the actress revealing, “It would depend on the script. If the script demands it, I would not be averse to it. I’m completely ok with it. Films today have different subjects and directors are dealing with them with a different sensibility and maturity, which is great”.

Although she refused to choose one particular actor she would like to work with, she had one main preference. “Whoever from the younger generation is cast opposite me, should be manlier and less boyish. I won’t be naming anyone at all”.
