Is Karan Johar’s ‘Shuddhi’ shelved?

BizAsia reported a few weeks ago that Dharma Productions’ ‘Shuddhi’ was indefinitely delayed. However, now rumours suggest that the project could be shelved altogether.

The finalised cast included Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan after many changes through the years. According the Filmfare, the film is turning our too expensive. Also, it is being said that Dhawan was waiting on ‘Shuddhi’ to begin and wasn’t signing any films in the interim. However, due to the delays, he has now started considering other projects.

The film was to be directed by Karan Malhotra.
