Irrfan Khan turns down Ranbir Kapoor’s father’s role in ‘Jagga Jasoos’?

A couple of days ago, it came known that Govinda had opted out of ��Jagga Jasoos�۪ and has been replaced by Anil Kapoor. Now, it�۪s come to light that Irrfan Khan was also approached for the role but declined to be a part of the film.

A source told Mid-Day, ���The makers were not happy with Govinda’s shot portions and had approached Irrfan. He was seriously considering the offer, but gave it up after the audience appreciated his on-screen chemistry with Deepika Padukone in Piku. So, he didn’t want to play Ranbir’s dad. In any case, his date diary is packed and he has left for the US to shoot for a Hollywood project, ‘Inferno’. He will return to India only in mid-July�۝.

Interestingly, Govinda seems unaware that he has been let go from the project. He shot for the Cape Town portions of the film last year, ���They have not informed me (about any such decision) and I have completed my work�۝.

��Jagga Jasoos�۪ is Ranbir Kapoor�۪s first home production in collaboration with director Anurag Basu and it also stars Katrina Kaif.
