Indian government set to pass law on digital media regulation

In a move that hasn’t gone down very well, the Indian government has order that all digital media is regulated, meaning they will be overseeing OTT platforms and social media.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting a;ready regulate films, theatres and print newspapers. They will be passed as a law in parliament next week.

Interestingly, many groups have been demonstrating for platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime to have some sort of regulation, similarly to films and television in the country.

The most concerning, which is being talked about on social media, is that online news will also be under control.
