IndiaCast UK ropes in eight sponsors for ‘Mahabharat’ on Colors

In a record move, IndiaCast UK has roped in eight sponsors within a day during this lockdown for the epic series ‘Mahabharat’ on Colors.

After just a couple of days of announcing the telecast date of BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat’ which originally aired in 1988-1990, team at IndiaCast UK went all out and secured the deals within 24 hours of the announcement.

Starring Nitish Bharadwaj, Mukesh Khanna, Rupa Ganguly, Gajendra Chauhan, and Puneet Issar, ‘Mahabharat’ is directed by Ravi Chopra.

The show recently aired in India on Doordarshan during the lockdown and it was a huge success. Based on the popularity of the show in India, it has attracted premium brands in UK to partner with Colors including Veetee Mega Basmati Rice as the presenting sponsor, Bigen Speedy Hair Color Range and Remitly.com as powered by sponsors, SBI UK and Dairy Valley as associate sponsors. Kulcha Express, Pullman Interiors and Gencom Technologies have also been signed up.

Elaborating on the sponsorship, Govind Shahi, Executive Vice President, IndiaCast UK said, “I believe that Mahabharat is much more than just a regular television serial. It has taught all of us key learnings about life. I recall watching the show with my parents every week and it was immensely enjoyed in practically every home in India. Bringing it back on screen today which is 32 years after its original telecast, it is a good time for families to watch this show together – a refresher for some while a whole new experience to the others.”

‘Mahabharat’ will air on Colors UK daily from Wednesday 6th May in a two-hour slot at 20:00 – 22:00, with a repeat telecast the following day at 13:30 – 15:30. It will air with English subtitles.
