India ratings: Star Plus storms ahead of ZEE TV in Urban

Star Plus returned to the top position in India ratings after being dislodged by ZEE TV last week on the back of the premiere of ‘Dangal’. While Star Plus led the Urban ratings last week, it was ZEE TV that led the combined Urban & Rural ratings – However, Star Plus has now clinched that back.

According to Week 22 of 2017 data for Hindi entertainment channels in Urban region, Star Plus delivered 440.978 million Impressions, followed by ZEE TV with 306.254 million Impressions and Colors with 298.458 million Impressions. Sony SAB TV held on to No.4 with 266.620 million Impressions and Sony Entertainment Television in fifth with 264.556 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Urban region was ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on ZEE TV with 5.947 million Impressions, followed by ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ on Star Plus with 5.877 million Impressions and ‘Naagin – Season 2’ on Colors with 5.382 million Impressions.

Sony Pal remained the leading Hindi entertainment channel in the Rural region with 444.094 million Impressions, followed by Rishtey with 375.688 million Impressions and ZEE Anmol in third with 333.799 million Impressions. At No.4 was Star Utsav with 305.909 million Impressions and ZEE TV in fifth with 221.806 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Rural region was ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ on Sony Pal raked in 5.053 million Impressions, followed by ‘Jamai Raja’ on ZEE Anmol with 4.906 million Impressions and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on ZEE TV with 4.677 million Impressions.
