India ratings: IPL cricket has biggest ever opening

The Indian Premier League opened to a record start for host broadcaster, MAX in India.

The fourth season of the IPL, which kicked off on Friday 8th April, saw the battle between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders reach a staggering rating of 7.14 TRP for the All India, C&S 4+ audience. The opening ceremony generated a 3 TVR earlier in the day.

The opening match of last year’s IPL had recorded 5.9 TVR.
