Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), the official broadcasters of the VIVO IPL continued its success story in the second week; with 24.4 million impressions as compared to 18.1 million last year. The VIVO IPL 2017 matches are being broadcast on Sony MAX, Sony SIX and Sony ESPN.
Sony MAX took over as the No.1 television channel in India with a 15% growth over No.2 channel Sun TV and a phenomenal 97% growth over Sun TV in HSM. VIVO IPL 2017 set a new benchmark with a cumulative reach of 295 million viewers across 13 matches making it to the highest ever cumulative reach across 10 years of VIVO IPL. It garnered greater stickiness in 2017 with a 41% growth in time spent from 48 minutes to 67 minutes across the first 13 matches.
Viewership of VIVO IPL on Sony SIX has grown by 81% over last year across 13 matches. The growth seen across the entire sports cluster (SONY SIX, SONY SIX HD, SONY ESPN, SONY ESPN HD) is 49% over last year.
