Imagine TV shunts ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf’ to late night

After keeping quiet for a day, Imagine TV has responded to the government’s call to change the timing of its controversial show ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf’.

The channel in India will move the show from its current 22:00 slot to 23:00 from this week itself. The change does not affect UK/Europe viewers.

A spokesperson for Imagine TV said, “We have received an advisory from the I&B Ministry that requires us to shift the telecast timing of the programme, Rakhi Ka Insaaf. We are complying with the Ministry۪s advice on this matter, and changing the telecast time of the programme to 11pm. We have already stopped all day time repeats of the programme and have advised all news channels to refrain from carrying excerpts or clips of the show during daytime hours of 5am to 11pm, as directed by the Ministry. We would also like to clarify that we have not challenged this Order in any court.”

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry in India had ordered ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf’ and Colors’ reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ to move to post 23:00 hours due to their adult nature. However, the Mumbai High Court gave Colors a reprieve by keeping the show in the 21:00 slot until Monday at least. It۪s then when the court will hear the channel’s petition.
