I & B Ministry questions CBFC on ‘Udta Punjab’ online leak?

This week’s release ‘Udta Punjab’ may have been dominating the headlines for its content but also its feud with CBFC.

On Wednesday, news emerged that the uncut version of the film was leaked online. While, investigations are still ongoing, Mumbai Mirror reports that the Information and Broadcasting Ministry team visited the CBFC office on Friday. The Ministry in Delhi maintained that no formal probe has been initiated and the visit was to assess facts.

A source told the publication, “Joint secretary Murthy and his team arrived at the CBFC office on Friday afternoon. They left only around 7 pm.During their visit they questioned everyone in the office including the clerks.”
