Has Sonam Kapoor replaced Deepika Padukone?

Deepika Padukone was the name on Salman Khan’s lips when he was on a certain chatshow. News also emerged that it was him who offered Padukone her first film even though she debuted with Shah Rukh Khan. Whilst her name was the one being touted as favourite to star in Sooraj Barjatya’s next with Khan as lead, it seems Sonam Kapoor may now bag the part due to Padukone’s jam-packed diary. It seems she is not able to give the film the dates that are required.

Barjatya and Khan’s collaboration has given way to a number of hit films during the years. When it was confirmed that Khan would be reprising his much-loved role as Prem in the filmmaker’s forthcoming venture, speculation has been rife as who would be his leading lady. Recent buzz suggests that Padukone may need to let the project go, making Kapoor the one that the makers now want in the film.

Whilst an official announcement has not been made, will Kapoor’s jodi with Khan be better than with Padukone? Wait and watch!
