Gul Khan on Shivani Tomar in ‘IPKKND 3’

Producer Gul Khan, who returns with the third season of ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ has spoken about the comparisons being made between the first and the third series of the show.

In a media interaction, Khan explained why Shivani Tomar was roped in as the lead actress opposite Barun Sobti, over Sanaya Irani, who appeared in the first season. Many fans have been left disgruntled at her decision to bring in Tomar instead of Irani.

She said, “I didn’t feel that she [Sanaya] would fit into the character, which is why we didn’t approach her for the role of Chandni. Obviously, we’re missing working with her as what we had lots of fun in the first season but I’m hoping we can have the same fun with Shivani.”

While the name of the show is the same as the first series, ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Season 3’ will deal with a little more of a hard-hitting revenge subject. Sobti will be seen as Advay and Tomar will play Chandni. It remains to be see how much the audiences will appreciate this on-screen pairing.
