GTC Punjabi confirmed for UK launch on Sky this month

A new Punjabi entertainment channel, GTC Punjabi, is set to launch on Sky in the UK this month.

The channel is led by Rabindra Narayan, the prominent media executive who previously headed PTC Punjabi before his departure last year. His return to the sector positions GTC Punjabi as a direct challenger to established broadcasters including PTC Punjabi, ZEE Punjabi, Panjab TV and several Sikh religious channels already available on Sky.

GTC Punjabi is entering the market with an ambitious AI‑driven strategy. In a recent Instagram post, Narayan described the network’s “AI‑first approach”, presenting it as a wide‑format Punjabi content platform. “From news to music, from films to debates, from AI fiction series to reality shows, GTC Network has got it all,” he said, highlighting the channel’s intention to modernise Punjabi television through technology and diverse programming.

The network is launching with an expanded portfolio. Alongside GTC Punjabi, viewers in India have already seen the rollout of GTC News and Punjabi Shorts, both of which accelerated their launch schedules in recent weeks.

With its blend of traditional entertainment and AI‑enhanced content, GTC Punjabi is expected to intensify competition within the UK’s Punjabi television market.

GTC Punjabi will be available on Sky channel 770 from Wednesday 18th February 2026.
