Great response to first trailer of ‘Cocktail’

The first look of a film always sets the ball rolling and kick starts its promotion so a lot depends on how initial trailers and the film’s music are received. The trailer to Saif Ali Khan�۪s youthful, frothy and fresh ��Cocktail�۪ released earlier this week and seems to have created quite a positive buzz for the film.

The trailer introduces the three main characters played by Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and newcomer Diana Penty, and contrary to earlier reports, it looks like Penty has a full fledged role in the film and not just a fleeting cameo. The film itself has a very ��Dostana�۪ (2008) kind of pastel look to it, with attractive people, and looks like a love triangle with a twist.

The film�۪s producer Dinesh Vijan is overwhelmed by the initial response to the trailer. ��”The response to the promo and first look poster of ‘Cocktail’ has been incredible. The viewers are reacting so so so positively. I was confident that the promo would be well received, but the fantabulous feedback is beyond my comprehension,” said Vijan, (the co-producer of ��Cocktail�۪ along with Saif), in an interview to Bollywood Hungama.

��Cocktail�۪ is written by Imtiaz Ali and directed by Homi Adajania and sees Padukone with Khan for the third time after ��Love Aaj Kal�۪ (2009) and ��Aarakshan�۪ (2011). It releases on Friday 13 July and also stars Randeep Hooda, Dimple Kapadia and Boman Irani in key roles. The first look trailer of the film can be viewed here.
