Govinda set to play gay character in next?

Govinda’s ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ (2017) didn’t quite hit the chord with audiences. However, it seems the actor is dusting himself off and set for his next venture already. BizAsiaLive.com has learnt that he will be seen playing a gay character.

The character will also have negative shades. A source said, according to India.com, “Govinda was approached by the makers where he was narrated about this gay character. The actor was super impressed with the script and gave it a go ahead”.

The source continued, “While Bollywood films have mostly portrayed persons from the LGBTQ community in a typical, caricaturish style, making a joke out of them, Govinda’s gay role will be different and have shades of grey that will give you goosebump”.

Govinda was unable to speak about the character or venture when contacted.
