Geo Kahani’s Sky EPG in UK up for sale

Geo Network’s second entertainment channel, Geo Kahani, will soon be bidding adieu to UK viewers after it was revealed that its EPG is up for sale.

BizAsiaLive.com can exclusively reveal that Geo Kahani, available on Sky EPG 741, is seeking a buyer urgently. The channel currently sits in the higher end of the Urdu section of the International category.

It is not yet clear when Geo Kahani will be ceasing transmission in the UK. However, the broadcaster is keen to speed the process so it can put complete muscle behind its two flagship brands, Geo Entertainment and Geo News.

It is believed that market conditions and a slump in advertising revenue is to be blamed for a number of recent television channel closures in the UK market.
