First schedule of ‘Udta Punjab’ to begin on 1st March

Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh starrer ��Udta Punjab�۪, directed by Abhishek Chaubey, has remained in the news even before its shoot commenced. BizAsia can confirm that the film is scheduled to start on time, despite the recent difficulties that reports suggested, on 1st March.

The film, as BizAsia reported yesterday, had a major studio pull out as producer. However, Madhu Manthena of Phantom Films, the film�۪s sole producer as of the current time, has confirmed that the shoot will commence in Amritsar as planned.

Earlier, it was rumoured that popular Pakistani actor Fawad Khan would be starring opposite Kapoor Khan but now it has been confirmed that Punjabi star Dosanjh will be in the film instead.

The film will be the second time Kapoor and Bhatt come together. They recently completed Vikas Bahl’s ‘Shaandaar’.

‘Udta Punjab’ is a film which will give an insight into the drug industry of the state of Punjab.
