The trailer of the film ‘Mohalla Assi’ which was leaked on the social media last week not only created rage among the audience but has landed director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi and actor Sunny Deol in trouble as a complaint has been registered against them for the use of expletives in the film’s trailer.

According to Absolute India, a complaint has been registered by Sarvajan Jagruti Sanstha with the police in Varanasi. The complaint says that the trailer violates moral ethics and also shows Varanasi in a negative way. Reports are that a social organization filed a complaint at the Bhelupur police station yesterday.

The complainant said, “The film hurts religious sentiments and we cannot allow such a film to be released.”

‘Mohalla Assi’ is based on the Hindi novel Kashi Ka Assi written by Kashinath Singh.

The film also stars Ravi Kishen and Sakshi Tanwar in pivotal roles. Deol essays the role of a Sanskrit teacher whereas Sakshi plays his better half in the film.
