Shiv Sena, an Indian political party, recently banned Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan from entering the state of Maharashtra. This has of course caused inconvenience to the Bollywood filmmakers who had shooting schedules and film promotions planned with both of the actors in question.
According to a report by Magna Mags, Fawad Khan will not be involved in much of the promotional activities for his upcoming film, Karan Johar’s ‘Kapoor & Sons’, due to the decision taken by the political party. It is not yet known if the film’s marketing team will organise promotions outside of Mumbai so that the actor can be somewhat involved.
It can be noted that Karan Johar has previously faced problems with the same political party, owing to the use of the word ‘Bombay’ in his production, ‘Wake Up Sid’ (2009).
‘Kapoor & Sons’ stars Fawad Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The film is slated for release on 18th March 2016.
Besides ‘Kapoor & Sons’, Fawad Khan has also recently shot a cameo for Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
