EXCLUSIVE: ZEE scoops Shah Rukh hit Swades

ZEE Network has scooped the film rights of Shah Rukh Khan’s slow but meaningful drama Swades.

The big movie, which was released back in December will be screened on ZEE Cinema and ZEE TV in months to come. The news comes days after Swades walked away with top gongs at the ZEE Cine Awards in London on Saturday night.

The film stars Gayatari, who makes her debut with Shah Rukh Khan and is directed by Lagaan director Ashutosh Gowarikar.

It is rumoured that ZEE paid 5 crore for the exclusive film rights. It is not yet known when the movie will be telecast. ZEE will also be announcing a list of other movie blockbusters film rights it has acquired, so keep it with Biz Asia for all the latest.
