Essel Vision, the production studio of Zee Enterprises Ltd, had announced a three film deal with Sanjay Gupta’s White Feather Films, the first of which was the recently released ‘Jazbaa’ (2015). It is now being reported that Essel Vision has backed out of this deal because of thefilm’s failure at the box office.

Bollywood Hungama reports that Essel Vision has backed out of the deal due to the poor ROI (return on investment) of the film. The production and recoveries of the film didn’t match up to the numbers at the box office. Although, Gupta denies the news. He said, “Nothing of this sort is happening. Our deal stills stands and yes I will be making two more films for Essel Vision. However, since the deal was not an exclusive one, my next will be with a different production house and it won’t even be under my banner of White Feather Films.”

‘Jazbaa’ was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback vehicle after giving birth to daughter Aaradhya, and also starred Irrfan Khan.
