Emraan Hashmi opposite Jacqueline Fernandez in ‘Arth’ remake?

Rumours over the last few weeks have been doing the rounds about the remake of Smita Patil and Shabana Azmi starrer ‘Arth’.

Jacqueline Fernandez and Swara Bhasker will reportedly be starring in the film, which will be directed by south actress-filmmaker, Revathi. While Bhasker plays a deserted wife, who takes the road to self-discovery after her husband leaves her, Fernandez plays an actress. Emraan Hashmi is rumoured to have been signed to play the male lead.

A source told PinkVilla, “Emraan has been approached to play one of the male leads, possibly Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s role. The actor is pretty excited about the part, given that the original was tactfully and meticulously looked over by Bhatt himself. Emraan’s closeness with the Bhatt family is well known and Emraan obviously seems to be an obvious choice for the role.”

The film is expected to go on the floors at the end of this year.
