Ekta Kapoor slams makers of new show ‘Pavitra Rishta’ for use of title
ZEE TV has announced a new drama titled ‘Pavitra Rishta’, a decision that has prompted a pointed response from producer Ekta Kapoor, who created the original series that became one of Indian television’s most recognisable titles.
Kapoor expressed her displeasure over the reuse of the name, suggesting that reviving an established title for an unrelated show undermines creative integrity. She indirectly targeted the show and shared on social media, “When u can’t create an IP u feed on an established one of another creator! Terrible ethics or intellectual bankruptcy!!! Or both!!! Nothing Pavitra about it!!! (sic)”
