Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Luka Chuppi’ features five recreated versions of vintage hits

Dinesh Vijan’s upcoming film features five recreated versions of old hits. ‘Luka Chuppi’ made use of recreating songs around ’90s, pop and regional hits.

Vijan describes it as a “curated album,” wherein the songs have been reproduced with a contemporary touch, reports the Mumbai Mirror. “It blends with the theme of our film. I believe instead of putting one song in each film, it’s better to put them all in one. For the Punjabi songs, we have gone ahead with the original singers as the idea is to also give them a national platform to showcase their talent,” Vijan said.

Vijan, who believes in the power of original compositions, says that recreations have become an integral part of promotion. “The promotional window of films has come down from nine weeks, so it is essential for the music to gain popularity in a really short period. With so many films releasing in a year, it’s difficult to stand out and so, using familiar sound serves the purpose,” he reasons.

‘Luka Chuppi’ releases 1st March, starring Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan.
