Deepika Padukone has had a wonderfullysuccessful 2015, with highlyappreciated performances in ‘Piku’, ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’. When asked if she regretted having missed out on ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, which eventually started Sonam Kapoor and went on to become a huge success, the actress said she believes films belong only to those who eventually do them.

Speaking to DNA India, Padukone said, “See films always belong to people who do them. It doesn۪t matter who was offered or who didn۪t do it. That’s why I talk about films that I have been offered. That۪s not what matters, what matters eventually after the film has released is who the film belongs to and it belongs to those who have been a part of it.”

It can be noted that Padukone too has stoppedinto rolesin films such as ‘Ram Leela’ (2013) and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015), which were previously to be essayed by someone else.

Summing up how the year has been for her, Padukone said, “It۪s been a roller-coaster ride… it has been an incredible year. I couldn۪t have asked for a better year. I thought 2013 was special… People around me said, Enjoy 2013 because it will never happen again.۝ And here I am, sitting again with three very special releases and so many special memories.”
