Deepika Padukone finally green lights ’83’?

After months of speculation and so many reports indicating that she wouldn’t have the time in her schedule, it’s now emerged that Deepika Padukone may have given the nod to playing Kapil Dev’s wife Romi in the forthcoming ’83’ which will see husband Ranveer Singh playing the legendary cricketer.

This will be the first time the couple are seen on the big screen after they married last year. A trade source told Asian Age, “Deepika has been trying to work her dates out after wrapping the shoot of Chhapaak, which was also an emotionally draining experience for the actress. In the film, she plays an acid attack victim called Malti, inspired by a real acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. She has willingly agreed to do the role in ‘83. The film is a very important one for Ranveer Singh because he has prepped a lot for it and so Deepika was keen to participate in the process, even though the role is more of a cameo”.

Director Kabir Khan also confirmed that there will be many cameos in the film, which will be announced in due course. It seems Padukone may be one of them!
