Colors working on new show ‘Comedy Nights Roast’
After witnessing immense success with its Sunday night ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’, Colors is said to be working on a new comedy format ‘Comedy Nights Roast’.
While reports suggested that the new show would replace the Kapil Sharma fronted stand-up comedy series, Colors has denied this. The new series is expected to take a primetime slot, yet to be confirmed – possibly Saturday nights. Producer Vipul D Shah is said to be working on ‘Comedy Nights Roast’ featuring contemporary comedians like Krushna Abhishek, Bharti Singh and Sudesh Lahiri.
A source told Times Of India, “The popularity of Kapil has suffered a huge blow over the months. While the creative team has been appreciated for its efforts, Kapil’s tantrums are to be blamed for this development.”
Incidentally, Sharma is currently on a break from the show recovering from a back injury. He is set to get busier in weeks to come with the release of his debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon۪.
