Colors HD launches on Sky in UK

Colors HD has made its much awaited launch on Sky in the UK.

As revealed first on BizAsiaLive.com, the first HD channel from the Viacom18 umbrella in the UK, is available on EPG 786. The new HD channel will be available automatically on EPG 786, while the SD version has moved to EPG 860.

As a part of its launch specials, Colors HD has lined-up a slew of big properties including the repeat telecast of ‘Global Citizen Festival’ on Saturday at 14:30 and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ on Saturday at 18:00 – both of which will air for the first time in HD in the UK market.

To promote the Colors UK HD feed, IndiaCast has devised a high intensity marketing campaign with “We Are Coming Closer To You” as its core messaging. The campaign will be delivered via cross-network promotions on Rishtey Cineplex and Rishtey Europe as well as spots across radio stations. In terms of off-air promotions, Colors HD communique will be highlighted through innovative print and outdoor mediums.

Colors HD will broadcast in widescreen, along with Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 audio, making it only the second free South Asian entertainment channel to be available in the UK. Colors HD will join &TV HD and Star Plus HD on the same platform. However, Star Plus HD is a part of the HD pack on Sky.
