CNN eyes tie-up with ZEE India after IBN end?

International news broadcaster, CNN is reportedly has commenced talks with ZEE Network India for a possible business partnership after the former mutually ended its association with TV18’s IBN service.

Live Mint reports that a member from CNN’s team recently visited ZEE News’ offices in Noida, which has fueled rumours of the two companies coming together. A source told the publication, ���A conversation is on. But ZEE is a very strong brand in its own right. It has to see what the American partner can bring to the table.

ZEE Network, which operates around ten news channels, has been toying with the idea to launch an English news service. However, it is not known whether ZEE is looking for a brand tie-up or something deeper. It would be interesting also to know if ZEE is planning a news channel for just India or a bigger service for a global audience.

It was announced earlier today that CNN IBN were parting ways after working together since 2005.
